In association with Rippon Builders and Undertakers we are pleased to announce the start of a competition to add to Agincourt Square a statue of a famous resident of End. All readers are asked to send in suggestions of whom they would like to be cast in bronze and erected for the rest of time. Suggestions in our office include Biggins McClean, for his sterling work ridding the town of rats in the 1876 epidemic, Is Wilsoni, the famous opera singer born on Gathering Street and of course Susan U for her well-publicised hunger strike to force the council to build a British version of the Eiffel Tower. Without Susan we wouldn’t have the wonderful Trifle Tower, so our vote goes to her.
All suggestions must be send to our offices by end of business on Tuesday next.
